Configuration for Samsung Enterprise Controllers

You can confirm your environment under Operator Customizations.

Before configuring your device, please be sure that you have added the Gateway to the Smart WiFi Platform and associated it with a Hotspot.
ADD GATEWAY
ADD HOSPOT

Please note that there are current limitations with the Samsung equipment!  Currently when a guest roams from access point to access point the Samsung controller sends our dashboard session start packets and session stop packets.  The result of this is our dashboard displaying inaccurate information related to sessions.  This results in significantly increased session counts which skews the report and insights data.  In addition, the smart email function with a rule set for X amount of visits will not work as expected.  We’ve been told by Samsung that fixes to the Samsung controller firmware is in development but no expected release date.

This document assumes that you already have your controller network settings and access point(s) setup and functional.

ALSO: Be sure that the MAC address for the CONTROLLER, not the AP’s are entered into the Smart WiFi Platform.

ALSO: If you plan on disabling port 80 HTTP for management, then make sure the captive portal PHP traffic is not running on port 80. However, If you disable port 80 HTTP for management, then choose an open port for captive portal PHP traffic.

Create an Access Control List (ACL)
This will contain the walled garden domain and IP entries that are required for the Smart WiFi platform and the associated social authentication requirements. Please add all the Default walled garden entries.

If you’re a white label client and you have your own splash domain, be sure to include it in the walled garden.

In addition, be sure the following are open as well:

Add RADIUS Server Information for Authentication and Accounting:

NOTE: The domain IP address below MUST be the INTERNAL IP of your controller.

LIMITED HARDWARE SUPPORT: Hardware manufacturers frequently make changes to firmware, controllers and GUI’s. The information below may be out of date or images may be different and is to be used as a general reference guide. We do offer additional limited support to help with trouble-shooting and we highly recommend that you have a hardware support agreement and/or access to a hardware support engineering representative from the manufacturer.
